Anything which is new in the market and eventually sets a trend sometimes takes time. There are several reasons behind this time lag. One such product of the recent times which is still climbing up the trend is the Smart watch. The history of smart watches goes a few decades back, but the modern form- the watch phone is no older than 20 years.
Today, although smart watches are seeing a sharp rise still there are factors which are dissuading people to buy smart watches. We have tried to unveil the truth behind the myths that surround the smart watches.
1.Redundant- People think smart watches are replaceable with smartphones and are redundant, which is not at all true. Although the functionalities are similar, there is a lot of difference between both the things. Smartphones are much bulkier to carry for certain physical activities like- jogging, running, working out etc. A smart watch can just be wrapped around the wrist and is good to go.
2.Expensive- Another misconception which is deterring people from buying smart watches is the price. There is a widespread misbelief that the smart watches are quite an expensive affair. Although the fact is that, you could get these smart watches at as low as 1000 bucks and under.
3.For technocrats- Smart watches are not an industrial thing and it has nothing to do with only with the technocrats. Anyone and everyone can use smart watch. Take any brand, it is designed to be understood by common people. As humans, we are also consumers and eventually, we learn how to operate things, so all who think smart watch is for technocrats, just buy a smart watch and judge yourself.
4.Gimmicky- Many people believe smart watch is a hyped product and it is just another gimmick. Although the fact is that such people are far from the truth. Today smartphones are not equipped with cellphone features but also features like pulse monitor, sleep pattern monitor, step counter and much more.
5.Bad battery life- A common misleading belief is, smart watches have bad battery lives. People perceive that a smart watch lasts up to 4 to 5 hours only. Although, there are smartwatches that last long for even a day.
